The Honda Heritage Center features multiple products and displays that focus on Honda’s U.S. engineering and manufacturing presence that started in Central Ohio in 1979. We invite you to explore the varied exhibits to learn more about Honda history and the products designed, engineered and manufactured in America.*

Explore Honda History

Honda has become an American leader in mobility, including the Honda and Acura automobile brands, powersports and power equipment products, marine engines, and even a jet airplane, while continuing to innovate for the future. Learn about this rich history through a self-guided tour including narrated videos, photos and displays.

What You’ll Discover

When you visit the museum, you’ll learn about Honda’s earliest beginnings in the U.S., selling three models of small capacity motorcycles out of a small office in Los Angeles starting in 1959. Then in 1979 becoming the first Japanese manufacturer to build motorcycles in America, followed in 1983 by being the first Japanese manufacturer to build cars stateside, both in manufacturing facilities in Marysville, Ohio.

The Honda Heritage Center is open and free to visit Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday through 5:00 p.m.

We request larger groups of six or more to visit on Thursdays when dedicated staff are present. For groups larger than 60, please reach out by email using the CONTACT US function or call the number listed above.

  • Guests under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Youth groups require one adult per 10 children.
  • Adults must show a government issued photo ID.
  • Allow 45-90 minutes for your visit.

Weekend Visits & Events

Starting on April 25, 2026, the museum will also be open on the fourth Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Between April and October we will host Cars, Bikes & Coffee events when visitors are encouraged to drive or ride their own interesting vehicle or motorcycle of any brand or era to display while enjoying the museum.

FAQs

Q: Where is the Honda Heritage Center museum located?
A: The museum is located in Marysville, Ohio, the heart of Honda’s U.S. manufacturing presence. The display sits in the northeast corner of the Honda Heritage Center building which also houses the Technical Development Center (TDC) and administrative offices. Across the street is Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant and Performance Manufacturing Center. Honda also has manufacturing, R&D, and testing facilities close by in East Liberty, Raymond and Anna, Ohio.
Q: Are factory or other local Honda facilities tours available?
A: No, currently no tours of other Honda facilities are available.
Q: Do you accommodate group tours?
A: Yes, tour and school groups may contact the Honda Heritage Center via email using the CONTACT US function or calling (937) 644-6888 for scheduling.
Q: Where can I park?
A: There is ample free parking available onsite in front of the Honda Heritage Center. During monthly Cars, Bikes & Coffee events, signs will be posted directing to Display Parking and General Parking.
Q: Is there food available?
A: During weekday openings, no food or beverage is available. During monthly weekend Cars, Bikes & Coffee Shows (April through October), coffee, water and light breakfast items will be available.
Q: Does the museum have a gift shop?
A: No, but there is a small merchandise display case in the lobby where souvenirs can be purchased on Thursdays when dedicated staff are present, and the HDMA Service Center across the street does have a store that sells Honda branded merchandise during weekdays.
Q: How long should I plan to be at the museum?
A: Please allow 45-90 minutes so you can enjoy each exhibit during your self-guided tour.
